About

The Foot Blessing is an outreach program that was founded by Orma Swearinger on March 4, 2022. After witnessing her father, the late Johnnie Felton, experience lifelong foot issues, Orma wanted to create a program in his honor. A friend of hers, Donna Muszynski, shared details about the program she founded in 2012 called "GF3. Columbia" (Good Food, Good Feet, Good Friday). Having received inspiration from Donna, Orma decided to bring a similar event to Greenwood, SC. It is the first of its kind in the Lakelands and will be held annually on Good Friday at the United Way Monsanto Gymnasium.

WHAT WE DO

The Foot Blessing promotes wellness through FREE medical and non-medical foot care and benevolence to individuals in the Lakelands area who are either senior citizens , unsheltered or have foot issues. Feet are the body's foundation and when the feet are hurting, it causes the entire body to feel unwell. Many people live with foot or toenail issues but may not be able to receive the attention they need to address the issues. The Foot Blessing seeks to provide the necessary attention to our seniors and neighbors in need.

HOW WE DO IT

Through the unselfish acts of our volunteers, we will provide foot soaking and cleaning. Our Licensed Nail Technicians will trim the toenails, reduce calluses and corns and provide a light foot massage. Our medical team will address any foot problems that they may notice. Once their feet have been cared for, each person will receive a new pair of socks. The greatest thing we do is give each person our undivided attention and make them feel very special while their feet are getting some tender loving care. We simply want to give " A Little Love for the Soles."

WHAT WE NEED

To accomplish our goal of providing FREE foot care to 100 people, we need the community's monetary support to help us purchase all of the equipment and supplies. We also need volunteers, professional and non-professional, medical and non-medical, to assist us. We need you to share our message with as many people as possible.
